After graduating with a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 2001, Ingrid's hard working spirit and keen design sense were put to the test. She and her partner purchased their first historic property in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Together they extensively restored and renovated the five-bedroom house in four short months and opened The Artisans Bed and Breakfast.
The success of this venture led to many historic restoration projects on the South Shore. A major accomplishment was the sensitive renovation of the Baily House, a 1890 Lunenburg Victorian features in EDIFICE (summer 2005) an architectural magazine.
In 2009 Ingrid shifted her focus and became a REALTOR spending two years at a local brokerage. Her "hands on" experience with renovation and restoration has provided her with a knowledge of design and construction, useful when advising her clients. Her warm personality, integrity, and commitment to the job, enabled her to become one of their top producers.
Wanting to experience Big City Life and new opportunities, Ingrid relocated to the East Village of Manhattan, where she lived with her two dogs. The skills she developed from working on historic properties in Lunenburg quickly found her employed as a highly skilled craftsperson on multi-million dollar projects in Manhattan. Although a truly wonderful experience, after more than a year in The Big City, she found "there is no place like home."
Having returned to Nova Scotia, Ingrid is excited to get back to her real estate career. She is looking forward to working with her clients and being part of the Tradewinds team.
